Abstract:
Film phosphors are obtained by adsorption of N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-1,3-propylenediamine and its halogen derivatives from their ethanol solutions by a perfluorosulfonic membrane. Fluorescence bands with maxima at 440–460 nm are determined by the polarized state of the molecules in the membrane. We propose to consider the antibonding $\pi^{*}_{(\mathrm{N}=\mathrm{C})}$ states of the azomethine fragments (HC=N–) of the molecules as emitting ones.
