Abstract:
The results of the study of spectral and luminescence properties of oxide coatings comprising ZnO and Ag nanoparticles and the process of singlet oxygen generation by these coatings are presented. Based on experimental results the microcapillary photoactive cuvette for the air and water purification systems has been developed. Microcapillary photoactive cuvette is optical element made from silica glass and having the canals with predetermined sizes, shapes and spatial dispositions, which containing ZnO and MgO nanocrystals and Ag nanoparticles. High effectiveness of singlet oxygen generation by ZnO and ZnO–MgO–Ag coatings and microcapillary cuvette at the irradiation by UV (370 nm) and violet (405 nm) light has been demonstrated.
