Abstract:
Photodecomposition of polyvinylpyrrolidone in solutions of metal nitrates is studied. This polymer oxidates in metal nitrate solutions under UV irradiation by reacting with reactive oxygen species and thus inhibits photodecomposition of other organic materials. UV irradiation of polyvinylpyrrolidone-stabilized ZnO nanoparticles leads to removal of polyvinylpyrrolidone and growth of nanoparticles.
