The Laboratory for Physico-Chemistry of the Atmosphere is engaged toward environmental themes since 15 years and is perfectly integrated to the general research scheme of the University of Littoral Côte d’Opale.

The themes that are developped lean on fundamental and applied research, in Physics and Chemistry, to comprehend, under various points of view, environmental anthropic perturbations mainly in air quality field.

The laboratory is located in a highly industrialized area (the harbour industrial park of Dunkerque), that has been profitable to develop an industrial based research unique in France and has strongly been involved in the creation of the Industrial Environment Research Institute (GIS CNRS IRENI).
