Founded in 1987, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (FMCS), with its fast growing programs, is now one of the most active schools of mathematical sciences in the Country. Before 1987, as the Department of Mathematics, it was part of the Faculty of Science which was offering undergraduate mathematics and computer science courses for engineering students. Today, FMCS has 36 full time staff and hosts many research activities, carried out by the faculty members. FMCS offers degree programs in both of undergraduate and graduate level in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Pure Mathematics and Statistics. Besides, every year the faculty offers various computer sciences, mathematics and statistic courses for about 4000 engineering students.
