The School of Computational Science (SCS) is the focal point of scientific computing activities at FSU. Computational science involves the invention, implementation, testing, and application of algorithms and software used to solve scientific and engineering problems. The SCS provides a venue for multidisciplinary research and teaching, bringing together computer scientists and mathematicians who are primarily interested in developing knowledge and tools in computational science alongside computationally oriented researchers who apply these techniques in a variety of disciplines.
