Theoretical and experimental elaboration of mathematical and physical basis of the problems of information systems and processes was stated to be the main task of the institute.

The main directions of investigations in the institute are:

  • Problems of informatics, mathematical modelling, predicting and optimization methods.
  • Theoretical and experimental physico-technological investigations for creating optical, optoelectronical and cryotronical basis of information handling.
