To meet an increasing demand for a Brock education, the University has invested \$100 million to expand the campus over the last few years with the construction of academic buildings, the Walker Complex, which is Niagara's largest recreational facility, and student residences.
As well, the University operates a campus in Hamilton, Ontario, that is used primarily for teacher education.
Brock serves the Niagara region as a cultural, academic and recreational centre and offers the community excellent facilities for people of all ages.
Brock's annual economic impact on Niagara grew to \$260 million in 2003. That is expected to grow as the University's enrolment increases to keep pace with the demand for post-secondary education.
Located on the Niagara Escarpment, overlooking the City of St. Catharines, the Brock campus is a safe and friendly environment. The park-like setting of the University, with its wide-open spaces, offers a number of outdoor activities at any time of year.
Opened in 1964, Brock was named for Maj.-General Sir Isaac Brock, who lost his life at Queenston Heights in the War of 1812. His last words are said to be, "Surgite! Push on!" — which have become the University's motto. Source: https://www.brocku.ca
