Abstract: In the present paper two-dimensional problem on evolution of the vortical system in the rarefied gas flow with periodic boundary conditions and the special initial Taylor–Green type conditions is considered. The direct simulation Monte-Carlo method was used for problem solution. Results of numerical simulation in the context of dynamics of vortical structures in the turbulent flow are presented. The data obtained allow to trace the initial stage of evolution and to define the spectral properties of the flow.
