On the shock wave structure in the gas mixture with the large mass ratio

A. A. Raines

St. Petersburg State University, Department of Mathematics and Mechanics
Abstract: The shock wave structure in the binary gas mixture is studied numerically with the use of the complete kinetic Boltzmann equation. We apply the conservative discrete ordinate method for the evoluation the collision integrals [1]. The method is generalized for cylindrical symmetry and for the gas mixture with large mass ratio. We analyzed the results by the discrete ordinate method and by the method Monte-Carlo [3].
