Abstract: The mathematical model of liquid metal droplet impact onto a cold surface and a solidification is considered. The implicit finite difference scheme is utilized for a solution of the Navier–Stokes equations. The numerical algorithm to solve the unsteady currents of a viscous incompressible liquid is discussed. The position of the free boundary melt is marked by particles. Markers move with a local velocity of a liquid. The experimental rezults and numerical rezults are compared to confirm the algorithm.
