Abstract:
A boundary element method calculation of the fluid flowing through porous blunt cone bodies of
constant or variable wall thickness is given. In the present paper, the porous medum is supposed to have constant physical properties. The calculation example for the porous hemispherical shell of constant wall thickness indicates that the numerical results of the proposed method are in good agreement with exact analytical solution. The obvious advantages of the present method over the finite difference method are that the calculation accuracy is higher and less calculation nodes are needed and that it suits better for the complex geometry.
