Simulation of deformation processes in complex construction under dynamic intensitive loadings
I. B. Petrov Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology
Abstract:
An analysis of wave propagation and deformation is presented, including fracture induced by collisions of rigid impactors with monolithic and layered targets. To compute problems of this kind, one has to deal with finite deformations of a continuous medium and adequately describe wave processes. These are particularly difficult tasks when layered targets are considered. To deal with the former one, it is proposed to use moving (including Lagrangian) grids. Wave propagation is simulated by using the grid-characteristic method, which can serve as a basis for algorithms that do not fail near domain or contact boundaries and for hybrid or hybridized grid-characteristic schemes that substantially improve numerical solutions involving steep gradients (discontinuous solutions). This makes it possible to provide an adequate treatment of wave processes in layered targets.
