Abstract: Numerical grid adaptation method is presented for finite volume method. Unlike traditional grid adaptation methods the presented method moves vertices of control volumes instead of control volume's centers. For such movement geometry information is used generated for the control volume method. The presented method can be used for two- and three-dimensional grids of arbitrary structure. Possibilities and limitations of the grid adaptation method are shown with various examples.
