Abstract:
This work presents the results of numerical study of the convective flows which appear in BSO solution-melt during crystal growth by Czochralski technique in the case of nonuniform heating of crucible side walls. The numerical simulation is based on the solution of three-dimension non-stationary Navier–Stokes equations with Boussinesq approximation and heat transfer equation. The results obtained confirm that a stable azimuthal flow is initiated by a cyclic variation of a heat field in liquid.
