Abstract:
The comparison between characteristics of “Supersonic Pulse Detonation RamJet Engine – SPDRE” with supersonic flow in detonation chamber and detonation wave propagating upstream of the flow of alternating poor and rich mixes and characteristics of it's stationary analogs – ram Jet engines with burning in subsonic and supersonic flows (RAMJET and SCRAMJET) are represented. The SPDRE exceeds RAMJET and SCRAMJET on specific impulse value. The important advantage of SPDRE over RAMJET and SCRAMJET on high flight Mach numbers is that of it has significantly smaller supersonic flow deceleration and as a result smaller heat flows toward the walls.
