Numerical study of the influence of an obstacle on the flow around vertical axial wind turbine

Abstract:
The simulation results of a vertical-axis wind turbine based on numerical solution of the
three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with Spalart-Allmaras
turbulence model are presented. For the helicoid turbine with three spiral blades, the results of parametric computations of viscous compressible flows in presence of the urban
infrastructure model are given.
