Abstract: The paper describes how to build spectrograms of the reflectance and transmittance for given chromaticity in the $XYZ$ CIE 1931 color space. The spectrogram calculation is performed minimizing the target function defining the deviation of the specified $XYZ$ values and $XYZ$ for the desired spectrogram. This procedure is used in the spectral simulation of light propagation.
Keywords: spectrogram, $XYZ$ CIE 1931, lighting simulation.
