Flat electromagnetic wave diffraction by an arbitrary infinite prism

Abstract:
The computation theory of flat electromagnetic wave diffraction by an arbitrary prism, infinite along its axis, was developed. In this geometry the problem was solved for the first time. The scope of the method covers wide range of diffracting radiation wavelength to prism’s transverse size ratio, also taking into accounts different materials of the prism. The possibility of application of the proposed method for calculation of electromagnetic field diffraction by the complex configurations was considered. Analysis of this method by performing computation for the objects with simple geometry showed that the results are in good agreement with the known results of theoretical and numerical studies.
