Spartial nonlinear absorption of Alfven waves in the dissipative plasma

Abstract:
In this paper we study numerically the nonlinear absorption of a plane Alfven wave incident on the stationary boundary dissipative plasma caused by the magnetic viscosity, hydrodynamic viscosity and thermal conductivity of electrons and ions and the energy exchange between plasma components. Relevance of the proposed research is caused by a number of workers in 2011, the heating mechanism of solar corona and solar wind generation as a result of the decay of plasma Alfven waves generated in the lower significantly colder layers of the sun. Since, as shown by calculations, the absorption of Alfvén waves occurs at wavelengths order of the skin, in which the equations of classical MHD clearly inapplicable, the research is based on equations of two-fluid magnetohydrodynamics taking into account the inertia of the electrons. The proposed implicit difference scheme for calculating the plane-parallel flows two-fluid plasma revealed a number of important patterns of absorption, in particular to study the dependence the absorption on Alfven wave frequency and electron thermal conductivity and viscosity.
