The calculation of plane waveguide with chiral insertion using mixed finite elements

Abstract:
This work presents the investigation of a plane waveguide with perfectly conducting walls, containing a chiral insertion. The distribution of electrical field inside the chiral insertion, excited by an incident normal wave of the waveguide, is calculated. The full vector statement of a problem is considered. The method of mixed finite elements, that prevents spurious modes appearance, is used for numerical solution of the problem.
