Abstract: The paper describes some models used in self-similar telecommunication traffic simulation. They are "Input M/G/$\infty$" and “On-Off Sources”. We describe some different methods for global (TCP) and local (Ethernet) traffic simulation. Simple numerical algorithms are presented, they allow to approach to real some statistical characterizes.
Keywords: self-similar traffic, traffic simulation, simulation modeling, "Input M/G/$\infty$", “On-Off Sources”, heavy-tailed distribution, queueing model.
