Time-dependent gas flows through axisymmetric porous heat-evolutional objects

Abstract:
The gas movement in the gravity field through the porous heat-evolutional objects, which may arise from natural or man-caused disasters (as the exploded unit of the Chernobyl NPP), is investigated. The mathematical model and original numerical method, based on the combination of explicit and implicit finite difference schemes, are proposed for researching the time-dependent gas flows through axisymmetric porous heat-evolutional objects. The cooling of the axisymmetric porous elements of step changed form and convergent form have been investigated. The influence of the heat-evolutional element geometry on the cooling process has been analyzed. The comparison of the axisymmetric and plane gas flows through porous heat-evolutional elements has been made, and it is revealed that the cooling process of the axisymmetric objects may differ from the cooling process of the plane objects not only quantitatively, but qualitatively.
