The All Union Oil and Gas Scientific-Research Institute after Academician Krylov
Abstract: Solution method for the sets of linear equations with sparse matrices, arising from oil reservoir simulation is described in the paper. A new technique of incomplete block decomposition – nested factorization is used for the preconditioning. The results of the numerical solution of 2D and 3D test problems and 3D practical problem are provided to illustrate superiority of the described method in comparison with some other similar methods.
