Abstract: The work is devoted to the application of the finite-difference scheme to the solution of the Maxwell equations for modeling the propagation of the electromagnetic ТЕ wave through a 2D dielectric grating. Comparison with the familiar differential method of modeling is made, and disadvantages and benefits of the both methods are discussed.
