On the estimation of parameters of nonlinear lattice models

Abstract:
One-dimensional lattice of (point) dynamical systems in considered that are generated by quadratic map of the unit interval into itself. Space interactions on the lattice are generated by diffusion and advection. The dynamics of this system is very rich and varies drastically with the change of parameters. We offer the simple procedure for estimation of parameters of such models using known trajectories (measurements) of the system under consideration. It is investigated also the dependence of a number of iterations that is necessary for setting of reliable estimations on the type of the dynamics and initial conditions.
