Abstract:
Oscillatory neural networks are reviewed which in ordinary regimes of working show oscillatory activity of single neurons, neural populations or whole networks. The main task is to describe the conditions when oscillations can appear and be synchronized. The new neurophysiological data are discussed which show the important role of synchronous oscillations of neural activity in information processing. The results of mathematical studies and simulations of the dynamics of oscillatory neural networks are considered. The main oscillatory models of olfactory, visual and motor systems as well as the models of memory and attention are presented.
