Computer simulation of structural dynamics in an accidents

Yu. K. Spirochkin

S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation "Energia"
Abstract: The main purposes of simulations of structural dynamics in an accidents with vehicles or technical objects are: solution of safety problems in their designing stage and investigation of havaries or catastrophes occured in operations. This work describes the NewTone program system intended for a such simulations, based on finite element method. Examples of structural dynamics simulations haw been presented for a possible crash landing of the BURAN spacecraft, ground impact of the MIL-34 sport helicopter and plasma disruption in the ITER nuclear fusion reactor.
