Mathematical models and computer experiment

Investigation of turbulent separated flow in a cavity

M. A. Antonov, I. A. Graur

Institute for Mathematical Modelling, Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: Numerical and experimental investigation of separated laminar and turbulent supersonic flow near an open cavities were held. The kinetic-consistent difference schemes were selectea to perform the numerical calculation. The results obtaind are compared with physical experiment. Measurements were carried out in cavities over a range of Mach number 2.95 and Reynolds number $7\times10^6$ using a laser doppler velocimeter (LDA).
