Kinetically-consistent finite difference schemes as a model for the flows of slightly rarefied gases
I. V. Abalakin, B. N. Chetverushkin Institute for Mathematical Modelling, Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract:
In this paper finite difference kinetic models for a single-particle distribution function are developed, basing on the usage of piecewise constant distribution function. The possibility of applying these models to simulation of slightly rarefied gas flows with Knudsen number of about 0.01 is also substantiated.
