Boundary condition realization in numerical solution of hyperbolic system

S. I. Arafajlov, I. A. Zhdan

M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University
Abstract: A simplified technique is presented for the realization of the boundary condition by Kentzer's scheme in the numerical analysis of hyperbolic systems such as gas dynamics equations by any explicit algorithm. The accuracy of simplified scheme is the same as usual Kentzer's one. However, the new method is not so complicated since it does not require the derivation of characteristic equations. It is just sufficiently to obtain the system eigenvalues and eigenvectors. So apart from the simplicity of realization, the present method reduces the probabilities of errors in numerical implementation of boundary conditions.
