Numerical study of two-dimensional gas flows with shocks by TVD method on physically adaptive grids

A. N. Gilmanov, N. A. Kulachkova

Research Institute of Mechanics and Machinery of Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: An application of the TVD method to computation of the problems of two-dimensional supersonic inviscid gas flows is considered. Physically adaptive-grid technique is used to increase accuracy. The results computed are compared to well-known exact solutions. It is shown that even coarse meshes may by utilized to get rather good results.
