Application of the surface potentials method in the problem of electromagnetic wave scattering from penetrable cylinder in stratified medium

Abstract:
A hybrid analytical-numeric solution of two-dimensional problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction from a homogeneous penetrable obstacle embedded into aplane layered medium is proposed. Surface potentials method is used to obtaine the system of boundary integral equations. Spatial inhomogeneity of surrounding medium is taken into account in kernels of integral equations by means of Green's function of a proper boundary problem. Initial system by means of Fourier transform is reduced to a system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind. The last one is convenient for numerical solution. Plane wave and guided mode scattering from obstacles with different shape inside a homogeneous dielectric layer is analysed numerically.
