Integrability conditions for demand functions of durable goods

M. S. Nediak

Dorodnitsyn Computing Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: Demand functions for durable goods that arose from the optimal control problem describing rational consumer's behaviour are investigated. The article contains the analysis of integrability conditions for demand functions. It is demonstrated that the separability property of preferences for goods is the consequence of integrability conditions when they hold true for any values of good characteristics.
