Multigrid method for solving steady convection-diffusion equation

G. V. Muratova

Computer Center of Rostov State University
Abstract: New modification of multigrid method is offered for the solution of the systems of linear algebraic equations with strongly nonsymmetric matrix obtained after difference approximation of convection-diffusion equation where specially created iterative method MZM (Modified Zeidel Method) is a smoother. This modification of Multigrid Method allows to solve the different nonsymmetric problems without limitation on the coefficients of differential equation and grid size. In suggested modification of multigrid method we use so-called “nonsymmetric” multigrid scheme that increases efficiency of this method.
