Quantum-statistical Hugoniots of porous substances

N. N. Kalitkin, L. V. Kuzmina

Institute for Mathematical Modelling, Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: Quantum-statistical Hugoniots were calculated for 83 elements and other substances at porosities $1\div10$. Their region of validity was established; it is restricted by influence of outer electrons at modest pressures and by thermal exitation of inner shells at ultrahigh pressures. These Hugoniois were approximated with simple formulae which accuracy is -0.05% for velocities and 0.3% for densities. Experiments in underground nuclear explosions proved them. These approximations art recommended as reference data.
