Mathematical models and computer experiment

Hierarchical structure of railway traffic popular service

N. M. Astafieva, E. A. Sharkov

Space Research Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences
Abstract: The mathematical model for description of breaking processes and periods of reconstruction for railway traffic is proposed and developed. Based on wavelet analysis of breaking traffic intensity acquired during January 1992–June 1995 it was shown that breaking processes exhibit a hierarchical struc-ture with the set of clearly distinguished scales – the Poisson scale region and regions of nonlinear and linear interactions. Evolution physical models on various distinguished scales of interactions are discussed.
