Abstract:
The paper is aimed at the development, construction and implementation of numerical algorithms for electromagnetic launch process simulation. The object under consideration is the electromagnetic accelerator of railgun type for conducting armatures launch. The problem is three-dimensional and non-stationary in time. The model elaborated allows computing phenomena in the cut region while we have to solve two specific 2-D problems on lateral sides of the railgun aiming at determination boundary data. Test calculations show proper results. We constructed algorithms to study phenomena in the “muzzle-fed” railgun, which has complicated current flow. The quantitative and qualitative results of the modelling arc presented.
