Abstract:
Mathematical modeling is a permanent and essential part of magnetic trap elaboration destined for the controlled nuclear fusion. Mathematical means of modeling are based on the computational magnetohydrodynamics. This review presents statements of problems on the formation of magnetoplasma configurations in traps and their geometric and physical properties in equilibrium. We consider methods of problem solving, give typical examples of computation results, point out their place in trap modeling. Most attention is concentrated on two-dimensional problems related to common types of plasma device symmetry.
