Research of aerodynamics of missile afterbody with ring nozzle in trans- and supersonic stream

S. B. Svirschevsky, N. V. Semenchikov, N. V. Korolev

Moscow Aviation Institute
Abstract: The experimental results of the aerodynamic interference of supersonic nonisobaric ring jet with the external streams around a conical afterbody are presented. The flow wave structure of overexpanded and underexpanded jets behind a boat tail has been analyzed. The influence was found of a jet pressure ratio $(N=2.47,\dots, 16.5)$ and freestream Mach number $(M_\infty=0.89,\dots,1.68)$ on the conical afterbody aerodynamic performances.
