Abstract: Unlike 5-(1,2,3,4,5-pentaphenylcyclopentadienyl)isothiocyanate, its selenium analogue 5-(1,2,3,4,5-pentaphenylcyclopenta-dienyl)isoselenocyanate exists in solution in an equilibrium with the isomeric seienocyanate, both isomers being found to undergo circumambulatory rearrangements.
