Abstract: A novel rearrangement of quintet 2,6-dinitrenopyridine to 3-nitreno-1,2-diazacycloheptatrienylidene was discovered by EPR spectroscopy during the photolysis of 4-amino-2,6-diazido-3,5-dichloropyridine in a cryogenic matrix at 77 K.
