Abstract: The interaction of 1-chloromethyl-4-fluoro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate) (F-TEDA-BF4) with 3,7-bismethylenebicyclo[3.3.1]nonane and its derivatives in monoglyme results in the transannular cyclization of the dienes to form 1-fluoro-3-fluoroalkyladamantanes.
