Abstract: Crystal structure determination for C70(CF3)8·PhMe revealed that the eight CF3 groups in the C70(CF3)8 molecule are situated in a para(7) string around the equator of the C70 cage; the molecule of C70(CF3)8 is isostructural with the known methylated and phenylated derivatives of C70, C70Me8 and C70Ph8.
