Abstract: The interaction of thiazolo[4,5-e][1,2,4]triazines with bicyclo[2.2.1]heptadiene at a high pressure (up to 15 kbar) results in the corresponding thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridines, and this is the key step of a new approach to fused pyridines based on the tandem SNHSNH reactions on the 1,2,4-triazine ring.
