Abstract:
Quasi-liquid composites based on poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films with 9 wt% solution of the C60 (70%) and C70 (∼30%) fullerenes mixture in dichlorobenzene (DCB) have been obtained. It has been shown that PET swelling in the fullerene solution in DCB is accompanied by penetration of fullerene into the polymer structure, and PET films are deformed by the mechanism of intercrystallite crazing. As has been revealed by UV spectroscopy, fullerene incorporated into composite remains monomeric as in solution.
