Abstract: A new rapid (5 min) microwave hydrothermal synthesis of CdS quantum dots stabilized with 4,4-bipyridine and dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate is proposed, and the influence of different capping agents on particles shape, size distribution and properties is discussed.
