References:
Abstract: This communication presents a simple but rather general analytical estimate of the characteristic time of crossing a long, high and arbitrary bumpy free energy barrier in a course of sequential chemical, biochemical or physical reaction.
Key words: free energy of the barrier, time of crossing the barrier, polymerization, one-dimensional diffusion, quasistationary approximation, generalized quasistationary approximation, secondary structure formation, population of intermediate states.
