Abstract: A significant increase in the binding energy of the singlet ground state of biexciton (of spatially separated electrons and holes) in a nanosystem that consists of CdS quantum dots grown in a borosilicate glass matrix has been predicted; the effect is almost two orders of magnitude larger than the binding energy of biexciton in a sulfide cadmium single crystal.
