Abstract:
The gas solubility in crystals has been studied with regard to interaction between impurity atoms in terms of the kinetic molecular theory of metals and alloys. The dependence of gas solubility versus gas pressure has been found for monoatomic and diatomic gases. It is argued that the deviation of this dependence from Sievert’s laws is due to interaction between impurity atoms.
Keywords:
solubility, interstitials, the gas pressure, the law of Sieverts.
